In Spring 2026, I designed 36 sheet metal components for different application usages.
Parts were developed on Fusion 360 and SOLIDWORKS and include shelves, racks, and computer parts. The goal of this was to better understand sheet metal designs for manufacturing and assembly.
One component was a wall shelf designed to hold 100 pounds. Made of structural steel, I used FEA results on this assembly to guide design changes such as fillet corners. This lowered stress concentrations at certain ends to improve force flow and cyclic loading endurance.
